English A Essay – Parents of Children Who Vandalize School Property Should Pay Fines to the Government For Their Children’s’ Deeds – Against

The sins of the children should not fall on the parent. This is a bastardization of a well-known Bible verse that speaks about parents’ actions affecting their offspring. Many persons believe that a child’s deeds should not negatively affect their parent. When a child defaces school property, some persons believe that parents should not be forced to pay fines to the government. This essay seeks to highlight that parents shan’t be held liable for their kids’ deeds, since fining the adults doesn’t actually solve the problem of destruction of school property.

Kids will be kids. Kids are creative creatures. Kids sometimes add their personal touches to “their” school furniture. While the children may not see anything wrong with scrawling on their desks, the adults sometimes think differently. It is well known that destruction of school property is distracting to children, and negatively affects their learning. Most persons know that these pieces of furniture need to be returned to their original condition for the goodwill of all learners. But parents should not be fined for their kids’ deeds. Charging parents doesn’t change the behavior of kids destroying property. All it does is steal from honest citizens. Perhaps the persons in charge should seek out other methods to affect the children’s behavior, like detention or in-school suspension. But charging parents for actions that they themselves did not commit isn’t a good solution to school vandalism.

To summarize, defacing of school property is a real problem. Being in an educative environment with graffiti strewn all over is distracting, and hampers learning. Some persons believe that parents should pay financially for their kids’ deeds. This isn’t the most effective solution to curb school vandalism, and other methods should be sought out to address this issue.
