Freedom is the ability to live one’s life on their own terms. Freedom extends to one’s personal life, even their job. Many persons look down on professionals for using their freedom to migrate for better work opportunities and put forth the idea that governments should keep them in house. This essay shall argue against this idea, that governments shouldn’t impede on the freedoms of their qualified professionals.

Governments shouldn’t stop their professionals from leaving the country because all persons should have freedom of movement. One of the Universal Human Rights is freedom of movement. This means that persons should be able to come and go as they please within the confines of the law. To and fro motion includes moving abroad for better work opportunities. Yes, it is necessary for educated persons to remain in home countries to ensure that all of the essential services are running smoothly, and have the adequate qualified staffing, it is not mandatory that all the professionals remain to run a country well. Some can choose to stay. Some can choose to go. The government should not have any say in commanding persons to remain in their native lands for their selfish reasons.

To conclude, governments should not prevent persons from migrating to other countries for better work opportunities. Persons have freedom of movement, and should be able to utilize this right to seek their interests.
