I thought about this today, that I should briefly define and give examples for the various parts of speech. I thought it fit to begin with verbs. I hope all essay writers will use this note in their CXC prep/ CSEC prep. So here we go.
Part of Speech: Verb
Meaning: A verb is a word that expresses an action, occurrence or state of being.
Example: She runs every morning. The verb in this sentence, runs, expresses the action. Therefore, runs is a verb.
