An adjective is a word that describes or modifies a noun, giving more detail about it. It helps provide more information, such as what something looks like, how it feels, how it sounds, how much there is, or what kind is it.
An example of an adjective is as follows. The blue sky was clear and bright. The word blue is an adjective because it describes the noun in the sentence, the sky. It gives more information about what the sky looks like, and therefore is an adjective.
