A quotation mark (or quotation marks) is a type of punctuation mark used to enclose direct speech, a quotation, or a phrase to show that it’s a verbatim or special use of the words. In English, they usually come in pairs — an opening quotation mark and a closing quotation mark.

Example:

  • Sarah said, “I’ll see you at the party tonight.”
  • The word “unbelievable” was written in big letters.

So there you go. I hope all writers use quotation marks in their CXC prep/ CSEC prep.
