The en dash (–) is slightly longer than a hyphen (-) and shorter than an em dash (—). It’s used primarily in ranges and to show connections or contrasts between words.

🔹 Common Uses of the En Dash:

  1. To show a range:
    • It means “through” or “to.”
    • ✅ Example: The meeting is scheduled for June 14–18.
    • (This means the meeting runs from June 14 to June 18.)
  2. To connect related items (especially with compound phrases):
    • When one part of a compound is already a two-word phrase or a proper noun.
    • ✅ Example: The Trinidad–Tobago rivalry is intense.
    • (A hyphen would be wrong here because “Trinidad” and “Tobago” are full names.)

Great! Now go ahead and use the en dash in your CXC prep/ CSEC prep.
