Paradox – Definition

A paradox is a statement that seems self-contradictory or illogical at first, but when you think deeper, it reveals a truth or makes sense in a surprising way.

Example:

“This is the beginning of the end.”
At first, it sounds confusing — how can the beginning be the end?
But it makes sense when you realize it means something is starting to fall apart or come to a close.

More Examples:

  • “The only constant is change.”
  • “I know one thing: that I know nothing.”
  • “Less is more.”

And there you go! Now go ahead and use a paradox in your CXC prep/ CSEC prep.
