Definition:
Diacope is the repetition of a word or phrase with one or more words in between. It’s often used for emphasis, drama, or emotional intensity.


Example:

The horror! Oh, the horror!
Joseph Conrad, Heart of Darkness

Here:

  • The word “horror” is repeated with “Oh, the” in between, creating a dramatic echo.
