It emphasizes a central idea through morphological variation.


Definition:

Repetition of the same root word in various grammatical forms.


💡 Example (original):

  • Love is not loving when lovers lose their love.

Root: lov-
Forms: love, loving, lovers


💡 Another example (common expression):

  • The things you own end up owning you.

Root: own-
Forms: own, owning
