Vandalism is the deliberate destruction of property. School vandalism can be described as the willful destroying of items found at a school. Many people view school vandalism as negative, and have called for the parents of the children committing these acts to face consequences, to pay fines to the government for these unwelcome acts. This essay shall outline why parents should pay fines to the government for their children’s vandalism, namely because of the need to allocate monetary costs to replace the items, which schools should not have to do.
Schools have set annual budgets. At the beginning of the school year, the administration allocates funds for spending on furniture for the students. These desks and chairs are found in pristine condition on September first, and yet, by September thirty first, students have already defaced the aforementioned desks and chairs. Studies have shown that persons do not work at their highest standard when they are surrounded by less than ideal conditions. Obscene language and inappropriate imageries etched onto their furniture makes it difficult for the students to concentrate. This can result in less retention of information at school, and low grades in exams. These consequences only harm the students, as they would lack an education needed for succeeding in the world of work. The parents of these vandals should be forced to pay up to fix these desks and chairs. They should be fined and ordered by the government to pay dues. All students should exist in classrooms that encourage their fullest participation. Parents of offenders should do their part in keeping learning safe, which in this case includes paying to right a written wrong.
In conclusion, parents of students who vandalize school property should pay fines to have the damaged desks and chairs restored to their original condition. School should be a safe place where learning is encouraged, and the parents of students who jeopardize this fair learning initiative should be fined by the government.
