Modern technology is a marvel. Day in and day out we see persons making advancements in all arenas of life. Not all persons are in agreement that the tech of today is a benefit. In fact, some persons believe the opposite, that modern technology has indeed gone too far. This essay seeks to argue against this point, that the tech of the day has not gone too far, and has not become a hindrance to society.

Modern technology is a benefit to society, and we see that in IVF. IVF, also known as In-Vitro Fertilization, is the artificial insemination of an embryo. In the days of yore, time and one’s biological clock controlled if and when a couple had children. Nowadays, with IVF, a person, not a couple, a person can decide when they wish to have kids and how many, especially if their desire for parenthood falls outside of the optimal human reproductive window of between the ages of 20 to 35. This is a marvel in that the benefits that arise from IVF are numerous. Women can pursue their careers for longer, and not have to choose between career and motherhood early on. Families can be more financially stable at the outset, because both parents can take the time to fully establish themselves in their careers, save, and be fully mature, and have a later conception age. Teenagers and young adults would not feel pressured to start their families with whomever is closest to them and willing. All persons wishing to become parents can take their time in choosing the correct partner for them. Families could remain intact, as all persons would know they wish to be there, remain together, and have stable filial units. This modern technology IVF is a marvel and overall benefit to society.

To summarize, modern technology has not gone too far. In fact, modern technology probably has some ways to go to continue helping society progress. IVF, and the ability to have kids outside of natural fertility windows is one such example of the advantages of modern technology.
