Man cannot live by bread alone. This is a popular quote from the Christian Bible stressing the importance of eating, and eating well. The source of one’s food is very important. Whether one’s food comes from local or foreign sources is also of high importance. This essay seeks to argue against the idea that local food is superior to food from foreign lands.
Foreign food is better than local food because there are higher regulations abroad than locally. Living in a third world country usually means that one oftentimes doesn’t have the first one country level of regulations. First world countries like the United States of America have large bodies that use their immense allocated resources to stay up-to-date with all of the latest advancements in food technology. Foreign foods are crossbred to be bigger, juicier and more nutritious than bare local foods. Greater yields in foods can feed more persons, which is useful if a country wants to battle and conquer hunger in the population. In this regard, we see that foreign foods are better than local foods.
To summarize, foreign foods are superior to their local counterparts. Foreign foods benefit from more research done to improve their quality. Local food does not enjoy this benefit and is inferior to its foreign counterpart.
