Life isn’t complicated. Things operate in a dichotomy. It is either yes or no. Black or white. Up or down. There is no in between. Many persons believe that everything is relative, and that situations can have many interpretations. This essay shall argue against this idea, and put forth the thought that things are either one way or the other, with no middle ground.

Nothing is relative because life isn’t so loosely interpreted. Consider the following examples: pregnant versus not pregnant, man or woman, adult or child. In the previous examples, we see a clear difference between each pair of examples. It isn’t that if one closes one eye, hops on one foot and spins in a circle three times that one can see that a woman can be pregnant and not pregnant at the same time. No. It is one or the other. And those examples aren’t outliers. All of life operates on a this or that model, where one must choose between two clear options. It isn’t possible for everything to be relative because the world operates on clear choices.

To conclude, everything in the world isn’t relative. Things are either black or white. Persons choose from set options. This is how the world operates.
