There isn’t any all-encompassing book on parenting. Many persons have tried to summarize their take on the parenting experience, but ultimately, there is no tell all text on how to be a parent. This essay shall argue against the idea that adults should take classes on how to be a parent before becoming parents themselves.
Adults do not need to take parenting classes because no one can tell everyone how to be a parent. Take two different races of mothers and their offspring. There may be an Somali way of feeding one’s infant that is culturally appropriate which would be inappropriate for an Arabian infant. Some children may need more liquids in their diet to compensate for the sweltering heat they may experience in their home countries. Other babies may need to be covered up from head to toe because they live in areas that are very dusty. One singular text will not encapsulate all of the nuances of being a parent in each specific country. Therefore, one class on parenting will not be helpful for each and every parent on helping them to care for their child.
To summarize, one person’s view on parenting cannot cover everyone’s view on parenting. Parents do not need to attend specific persons’ classes on parenting because these classes more than likely will not be entirely useful for their parenting type.
