Young people don’t know how to support themselves. This is a prevalent thought among the adult population, that young persons are lost in terms of career paths. This trend of thought is incorrect, and this essay shall argue against the idea that parents are to blame for their young children not having direction in their work life.
Young people should not blame their parents for their lack of direction in life because there are many influences in life that confuse children. Yes, parents do counsel their children on which high paying jobs they should pursue to have a comfortable life. But then there is also the media that sells another story. Children see rappers and artistes living lavish lifestyles singing about salacious lifestyles and think that they are valid options for a successful life. Then they attend religious institutions and learn about living a virtuous life and disavowing the modern world and worldly lifestyles. And these three examples are only a fraction of the stakeholders involved in the education of children. So it is no wonder that the youth are lost when it comes to work opportunities. Children have too many options, so they do not know what to choose. It is not correct to say that parents are to blame for their children being lost in their work life.
To summarize, parents are not to blame for their children not having a set out work path. The media, religion, parents as well as many other groups confuse children so that they are inundated with choices, that they cannot choose a job, and end up lost in their careers.
