Accidents are part and parcel of being a driver on the roadways. They aren’t reserved for the young, as any age can cause an accident. Many persons believe that young people cause all of the accidents, but this simply isn’t true. This essay shall argue against this idea, that it isn’t simply the young persons who cause all of the accidents.

Young people are not the originators of all the roadway accidents. Official statistics indicate an even spread in the demographics of persons who cause accidents. According to the 2024 figures, the most recent ones to date, there is an even 20 percent split between all five age groups that drive vehicles that cause accidents. 20 percent of drivers aged 18 to 30 cause accidents. 20 percent of drivers aged 31 to 40 cause accidents. 20 percent of drivers aged 41 to 50 cause accidents. 20 percent of drivers aged 51 to 60 cause accidents. 20 percent of drivers aged 61 to 70 cause accidents. Therefore, it is safe to believe that young persons, that is persons aged 18 to 25 are not the originators of all of the accidents. There is an even spread across all age groups of persons who cause accidents on the roadways.

To summarize, young persons do not cause all of the roadway accidents. Official statistics indicate that persons of all ages, across all age groups cause accidents on the road.
